Let’s just say that women could be easily referred to as some-what docile animals that only attack when provoked.

He’d know, he dated one or two of them.

There was also another hybrid of the species currently being cornered in the hallway by what he could barely make out as a group of men. A few words drifted by his ears, words such as “blondie, Lieutenant,” a few jeers and one name.

Hawkeye.

Men?

Wait.

Most of the males who knew about her were terrified of her, not to mention what Roy would do to them should they ever get past her glare.

Curious as to what the hellwas going on, the Brigadier General rounded the next corner and stepped in his path, face more amused then anything else.

First off, his Lieutenant Colonel, and the unspoken distinction was very well known.

But this group of soldiers…

Weren’t even enlisted, but merely cadets trying to cope a free feel.

No wonder they weren’t scared off by her glare alone.

Feeling a touch sympathetic at the pallor of the young woman, the general assumed an authoritative position and cleared his throat. “Cadets,” he barked, a smile on his face as his voice echoed in the hallway. “Under who’s authority do you have to harass one of my best officers?”

One of the cadets saluted him and half-shouted “Major Jan Havoc, sir.”

A black eye-brow twitched as he looked back at a few of the cadets still trying to touch the Colonel.

If he wasn’t so possessive, he’d let the act go on a bit longer, but she was looking desperate and he antsy.

“Oh, well, we’ll have words later,” he muttered before raising his voice once more. “Colonel, I applaud you for not plugging these green-backs full of holes. I also thank you, because I haven’t been able to use these brand-new gloves yet.” He then focused on the cadets in front of him, disarming grin in place.

“Give me a reason to snap these fingers, please.”
