Recovery

Kissing Aion broke his Balancer.

As stupid as that sounded and Chrono knew stupid when he saw it, the same man that she watched murder her family for the glory of his “crusade” even dared lay lips on what was his.

Her spirit rebelled as the darkness held her to the Sinner, visibly cracking and sparking as Chrono heard the scream in his head.

She knew.

The tears coursing down her face was evidence enough to spur the injured demon into motion.

The Balance tipped in his face, absorbing Aion’s power for himself as he transformed into his former self.

Rosetted crumbled to the ground in a heap as a blade pierced through the demon, causing the image to fade and disappear.

He should have known that it wasn’t actually Aion, because Rosette’s Sacreds had no effect.

Her spirit crackled and cried for him as he let the power fade into his half-sealed form.

“I’m so sorry,” he whispered, gathering his broken Balancer into his arms as she sobbed against his shoulder. She would need a couple of weeks to recover, for her spirit to recuperate, and he’d gladly give it to her.
