Too Loud

Mai Taniyama started as the door to the Shibuya Psychic Research center flung open, a finely-clad Monk-san in the doorway as she yelped.

Kazuya Shibuya slid into the room from behind the taller man, a look on his face of “you’re too loud.”

A hand slapped to her face to hide a growing blush as she stuttered a greeting to both men before asking if they wanted tea or any other beverage.

“Mai, tea.” Kazuya dismissed her to the newly-remodeled kitchen. He had recently commissioned an expansion of the center to include another room as a bedroom and a full bathroom for Mai’s use. As well as his own use when he had to stay at the office. To be truthful, Kazuya had planned this expansion ever since he had hired Mai as an assistant. Having known her circumstances, it was partially the reason he brought her along every time, he figured that having her live with her teachers would harm them with her recently-discovered abilities.

That and he wanted to observe her on his own time, so he’d have an excuse to stay at teh office as often as he needed.

Lin hated the idea, but who was he to say otherwise? It had been his decision and Mai thanked him for it in her own little animalistic ways. Such as her dreams on the investigations and the money that she attempted to give him in an effort to pay off the camera that landed her here to begin with.

What she didn’t know was that he was funneling the money into an account that would be turned over to her in cases of emergencies.
